Zelda: TOTK’s Most Annoying Feature Can Easily Be Fixed With DLC

Any future DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be able to resolve one of the more annoying aspects of the game with ease.

Future DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has the potential to change one of the game's most annoying features. Although TOTK is undoubtedly an incredible game some aspects of its design can still be cause for irritation among players. However should TOTK follow Breath of the Wild in expanding with the addition of DLC there is every chance that at least one of these issues could be resolved.

Tears of the Kingdom includes a range of features that build upon those of its prequel. For example, not only must Link once again scavenge for both materials and weapons but he can now Fuse these together to improve his combat capabilities. In addition, several new sets of armor have been added to the game such as the Froggy Armor set which can prevent Link from slipping while climbing in the rain a welcome solution to how frustrating this same mechanic could be in BOTW. However while many changes and additions have been made for TOTK that isn't to say that the game doesn't still have its own irritations.

Zelda: TOTK DLC Could Give Link More Hearts & Stamina

Link has the potential to earn plenty of Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels in TOTK with 152 shrines scattered across Hyrule offering Lights of Blessing to exchange at Goddess Statues. Combined with the rewards for defeating Bosses and completing the A Call From the Depths side adventure this means that Link can have a maximum of 40 Hearts 10 more than in BOTW or three Stamina Wheels. However he cannot have both hearts and stamina maxed out at once which leaves a constant conspicuous gap. This can be frustrating for many players but a DLC release could easily fix this by allowing Link to obtain additional Lights of Blessing in new shrines.

Extra Hearts & Stamina Would Unlock Link’s Full Potential

Adding new Shrines as part of DLC for Tears of the Kingdom would be a perfect way to fill the gaps in Link’s health and stamina gauges. In addition to providing fresh puzzles and challenges to overcome it would be natural for such Shrines to have more Lights of Blessing as a reward and by extension extra Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels. Indeed Breath of the Wild’s previously added additional Shrines as part of The Champion’s Ballad DLC some of which rewarded Link with Spirit Orbs. However with that being said only one more Container or Vessel could be obtained this way leaving Link two short of his maximum overall.

Of course, it must also be acknowledged such an addition would strip the Bargainer Statue found in Lookout Landing’s underground shelter of much of its own utility. There would be little point in players using its services with both Hearts and Stamina maximized. However Link would presumably still be able to exchange Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels for rupees if he needed them and DLC could perhaps also expand the Statue’s functions at the same time. But in any case bringing both Hearts and Stamina to their limits is progress that the Hero of Hyrule deserves as he fights to rescue the kingdom once more.

The player’s inability to maximize both Link’s Hearts and his Stamina at the same time can be incredibly frustrating. Not only is the resultant gap in the relevant gauges very noticeable but it also makes it seem as if Link is never at his full strength in TOTK even if the player has fully completed the game. On the other hand any future DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could fix this relatively simply allowing Link to reach his full potential.
