Should Melissa Ordway fans be worried? Is little Dominic about to wonder why his mom has a different face? Because The Young and the Restless ’ former Abby, Hayley Erin, is headed back to Genoa City!
The actress, whom soap viewers last saw as Ava’s dearly departed daughter Kiki on General Hospital from 2015 to 2019, is slated to rejoin Young & Restless later this year. Fortunately, she’s been keeping her soap skills perfectly sharp since winning an Emmy while kicking it as Kiki (and kicking the bucket) — playing Taylor on Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and working on some independent films. (How she hasn’t yet been snapped up for Hallmark movies like so many other soap alums, we don’t know!) She also kept in swoony soap spirit by marrying handsome Irish actor Adam Fergus in 2020 and having twin daughters, Maude and Juno, in 2021.
Erin’s last stint on The Young and the Restless was from 2008 to 2010 — and here at Soaps.com, we’re all wondering if she’ll be reuniting with her on-screen parents Eric Braeden and Eileen Davidson when she hits town. Why would this be in question at all? Because, as you’ve probably guessed, she’s not playing Abby Newman. Per Soap Opera Digest, she’ll be a brand-new character involved with Newman Media — Claire Grace. Not gonna lie, though, we definitely want an excuse to see Claire with Ashley and Victor — as well as Melissa Ordway’s Abby. We do de-Claire, that would be utterly delightful!
