10 Important Story Moments That Must Happen Before Cobra Kai Ends

Cobra Kai season 6 needs to bring the show full circle and must include some key moments for characters like Miguel, Johnny, and Daniel.

Cobra Kai season 6 has many storylines to address before the show ends, including the futures of Daniel and Johnny, as well as what happens to the Cobra Kai dojo. Each Cobra Kai season has featured major twists and game-changing moments, such as Miguel’s fall in season 2 or Terry Silver’s arrest in season 5. However, given that Cobra Kai will end will season 6, the show now has to wrap everything up and bring the saga full circle.

Cobra Kai season 6’s story is set to focus on the Sekai Taikai, the global karate tournament introduced in season 5. Both Miyagi-Fang and Cobra Kai have been selected for the competition, which can be the perfect culmination of the entire saga. From one final Johnny vs. Daniel rematch to the fate of the main characters, here are 10 moments that must happen in Cobra Kai season 6.

Daniel & Johnny Must Have One Last Fight Before Cobra Kai Ends

Cobra Kai, as well as the original Karate Kid movie, was built on the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. From the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament to their clashes in Cobra Kai, Daniel and Johnny are rivals even when they are friends. The duo has been on good terms since Cobra Kai season 4’s ending, and there is no reason for them to fight. That said, Cobra Kai cannot end without one last confrontation between two of the saga’s most iconic characters. Be it in a special tournament division for teachers or in a Rocky 3-style match, Daniel vs. Johnny needs to happen.

Who Will Win The Sekai Taikai Is Cobra Kai Season 6’s Most Important Story

Following Cobra Kai season 5’s ending, the biggest storyline left for the show to cover is the Sekai Taikai tournament. For the first time in the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai saga, the main characters will enter a global karate competition. Tournaments are an essential part of the Karate Kid/Cobra Kai universe, so it makes sense for the final season to feature a global competition. Cobra Kai season 6’s final episodes will likely be dedicated to the Sekai Taikai finals, and the winners will surely be considered the best fighters in the franchise. Interestingly, almost every Cobra Kai character deserves to win the final tournament, from a narrative standpoint.

For example, since his injury in Cobra Kai season 2, Miguel has yet to have a major victory on the show. Miguel Diaz is arguably Cobra Kai’s main character, although the show thrives on its ensemble cast of classic and new names. Sam LaRusso has never won a tournament, and ending the Karate Kid saga with a LaRusso winning a tournament would be most fitting. Robby has also never won a tournament, and his character development asks for such a victory. Another example is Tory, who won the latest All-Valley karate tournament, but with Terry Silver buying the referee.

Carmen & Johnny Having A Baby Will Conclude Their Story

Cobra Kai season 5 surprisingly revealed that Johnny and Carmen are expecting a baby. Miguel and Robby will now be part of the same family, and a new legacy Karate Kid character is set to join the franchise. It’s unclear when will Cobra Kai season 6 take place, although there will most likely be a time jump from where season 5 ended. If so, Cobra Kai’s final season will be able to show Johnny and Carmen’s baby, which would be an emotional conclusion to both of their stories.

Kenny & Anthony’s Rivalry Needs To Be Settled

Almost every Cobra Kai rivalry was settled in season 5, which saw former enemies like Robby and Miguel becoming friends after multiple seasons of fights and arguments. The same applies to Daniel and Johnny, as well as to Sam and Tory. However, one major Cobra Kai rivalry yet to be resolved is Kenny and Anthony’s. Kenny realized that Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai dojo was built on lies, but how this will affect his character in season 6 remains to be seen. Regardless, with only one season left, Cobra Kai has to close the Anthony vs. Kenny storyline.

Kreese Must Be The One To Take Down Terry Silver

John Kreese was the villain of two Karate Kid movies and returned with a similar role in Cobra Kai. Even though Cobra Kai season 5 hinted at a redemption arc for Kreese, it is difficult to imagine he will be on the side of heroes during season 6. Even so, there is no better character to take down Terry Silver than Kreese. Terry Silver’s Karate Kid and Cobra Kai stories come down to his relationship with Kreese, which took a turn at the end of season 4. Silver is in jail, but should the Karate Kid 3 villain return with one final master plan, Kreese will be there to stop him.

Johnny Lawrence Must Reclaim Cobra Kai Before The Show Ends

Cobra Kai began with the story of Johnny Lawrence as he tried to reinvent the Cobra Kai dojo. While Johnny kept all the Cobra Kai teachings he knew, including the “no mercy" motto, he changed the dojo into something more positive. Johnny’s Cobra Kai was not the same as Kreese’s, yet this change was a lot when Kreese took back the dojo. Following Terry Silver’s return in season 4, Cobra Kai could not be more different from the dojo Johnny put together in season 1. Before Cobra Kai ends, Johnny has to reclaim the dojo, either with Daniel or as his personal project once again.

Terry Silver’s Mysterious Condition Needs To Be Addressed

Cobra Kai season 5 strongly suggested that Terry Silver is dying. Silver kept bringing up legacy, which is why he wants Cobra Kai to be in a global tournament. Silver was also at the hospital, and it didn’t seem like it was just to scare Johnny and Carmer. In addition, Silver was ready to die during his fight with Chozen. How Terry Silver’s story will conclude is difficult to say, but Cobra Kai season 6 is set to revisit whatever condition he has.

Chozen Needs To Tell Kumiko How He Fells

Chozen reveals to Johnny that he is in love with Kumiko. This storyline can bring Chozen’s character full circle, as it all began with the events of Karate Kid 2. Chozen left Kumimo a message at the end of season 5, but he has yet to tell her face-to-face how he feels. Cobra Kai season 6 needs to revisit Kumiko, not only because she is an important part of the saga, but also because it could offer a great conclusion to Chozen’s story. Perhaps Chozen’s ending will see him and Kumiko getting together.

Miyagi-Fang Karate’s Future Will Have To Be Addressed

Daniel, Johnny, and Chozen created a new dojo in Cobra Kai season 5. The “Miyagi-Fang Karate” still does not have an official name, but the goal is to combine the teachings of Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang, the latter of which is an extension of Johnny’s Cobra Kai style. Cobra Kai’s final season needs to settle which characters will run each dojo, especially now that everyone has left Silver’s Cobra Kai. For example, if Johnny and Daniel do create an official dojo together, would that mean the end of Cobra Kai? This is a question Cobra Kai season 6 will answer.
